In addition to building furniture, Millwood also builds and installs architectural features such as doors, vanities, kitchens, mantels, ceiling beams and arches. The rustic look of reclaimed wood is unequalled. Even though users of new wood try to copy a distressed look, the authentic old nailholes scars and discoloration created in a former life cannot be attained with modern machinery.
Ceiling beams, posts and mantels oftentimes are handhewn. The arch to your left is carved from a solid piece of 6 x 16 Doug Fir, reclaimed from an old mill site in Stockton, California.
This railing was made from Juniper wood. The twists and colors of this wood make it a good resource when a more flowing look is desired.
Wine cellars can be built in to your specifications and bring a flavor of France and the art of wine making right in your home.
